Time Golem

It hits you once and you are Slowed, it hits you twice and you go unconscious. Once unconscious it will steal away your time--in the form of levels, one level per round.

Its head is full of time-sand--after taking half its hit points worth of damage (i.e. when blooded in 4e terms), each hit on the golem sprays time-sand around. Everyone within 10 feet must save vs spell or fall unconscious.
It's unclear whether time-displaced alternate universe versions of the PCs are actively summoned by time golems or whether time-displaced creatures seek out time golems because the golems themselves represent confluences in space-time where alternate universes meet.

Either way, roll d100:

When they die, everything dissolves except the time-sand in the upper half. Usually about d4 rounds worth (or d20+4 seconds). Eating this sand will freeze time around the diner for the appropriate number of seconds.

Good. Hate level drain but love the golem. great flavor. Totally something a weird old wizard would make.

I'm confused. When do you roll the d100? How do the duplicated PCs relate to the Golem.

You roll to determine the nature of the duplicate PCs.

As for how they relate to the golem:
"It's unclear whether time-displaced alternate universe versions of the PCs are actively summoned by time golems or whether time-displaced creatures seek out time golems because the golems themselves represent confluences in space-time where alternate universes meet."

either way, they often show up when PCs run into time golems

Got it, thanks. Good monster.

I like this one allot. If a strong enough PC Magic user can drop a time stop spell what kind of strange effect would you suggest?
I'm thinking a time stop spell (which they say just speeds up the caster bu that's a BS explanation) Cast on one fo these buggers could cause a sort of momentary time seizure during which only the caster and the golem woudl be active and the caster could openly commune with the golem for a round or two.. ask questions , offer cupcakes .. what ever... From the out side it woudl look like the caster and the golem are stretching through time as if they were a Popeye cartoon on silly putty being stretched and twisted by an 8 year old.

Rarely do I comment in these. I have to say, Zak: this is a truly awesome critter.

A fun option: If your PC die because of level drain, you get to play your alternate version.
