Gotta admit thhis is an interesting title for a blog ^_^

You and your group still play 2nd edition, though? I wonder why you haven't switched to 3.0-3.5 (or, got forbid, 4th Edition?).

I think you're confused.
These are for AD&D (1e) and they're written in the style of 3e so you don't have to use the table in the DMG to figure out hit numbers.

The term "THAC0" was used extensively in 2e but the principle it represents--"determine your character's to-hit-ac-0 number and subtract the target's armor class to find your target number" can be used in 1e or 2e or, if you change armor class to descending insted of ascending, in 3e.
