It's all so pretty...
Freakish and disturbing...
But pretty.

Small typo me thinks in Drinking: "People like you better drink." I know not final, just thought to point out in case something that should be fixed.

Ha, I get it now perhaps "people like YOU better drink" rather what I saw as a typo would be "People like you better drunk" Perspective...

Well, I already know that this game is good. But I see that it's also going to be a gorgeous art book. This will go into the main bookcase in my living room, not hidden with the rest of my game stuff. I like how discreet the stats/crunch is in the overall layout.

The girl on that "Therapy" page looks like she might have been abused or even raped, FYI.

@Anonymous

Do you mean inasmuch as any person does? (and, if so, why bring it up?)

Or do you feel like there are specific cues in the image that suggest that?

Megarato said...

Hey zak, when the book is coming out? And it will be available to non backers? Where?thanks.

Zak Sabbath said...

@Saci

I think in August was what I was last told, it will be available to nonbackers at that point and Mike is setting up a webstore to handle that

Megarato said...

Thanks. Looking foward to it.

@CandyWitch

I like the standard Rider-Waite deck, it's iconic and easy to read. The fact that its never been equalled for kvlty vibes (despite how many artists have tried) is one reason I set the funding goal for doing my own tarot deck so high: I wasn't sure i could do it.

The Hermetic Tarot is pretty good and creepy, but the cards are harder to read or take in at a glance, so it's less good for a tabletop game like Demon City.

How do you think this project will end up doing, bearing in mind the inevitable backlash re: the mandy situation and everybody in the rpg scene disowning you? What's your plan to deal with that roadblock?

@Anonymous

Let's leave aside the question of whether Vocal Dipshits in the RPG Scene Online Who Were Gullible Enough To Dogpile Onto A Legally Actionable Hoax actually represent a significant fraction of the game industry's buying power (I don't know if they do or not, the data is decidedly mixed on that).

By the time the game actually comes out the situation will be MUCH different than it is now.

Hi Zak,
I just found this article which I believe could be of some interest (also maybe some fodder for a Demon City scenario): https://lareviewofbooks.org/article/the-suburban-uncanny

"Mandy's literally disavowing incidents she initiated, and that ended only when she wanted them to, incidents which she gleefully bragged about and that lots of people witnessed. In some cases her and her friends claims are legitmately physically impossible.", you say.

Quite the bold claim! Could you provide some actual links or receipts on that? It's not like you hold people to another standard.

Of course! Always:

@Anonymous

and, of course: the women who signed those statements have signed them on pain of perjury, so claiming -- as you did in your erased comment -- that they can suffer no legal consequences is inaccurate.

Zak Sabbath said...

@Anonymous

You're not allowed to lie in the comments.

You're not telling the truth about what's in the link and this is a common false claim:

You're pretending that Mandy made some specific accusations of abuse about specific incidents and all the witnesses say is "I didn't see them" -- that is 100% not true and no-one who can read English and says they read the statements linked can honestly claim that. It's emblematic of the whole situation that this idea is being repeated with robotic certainty.

In the very few cases where Mandy describes specific incidents of abuse, they're directly contradicted (For example: Mandy claims I authored a post for her and Michelle directly states she saw her write that post).

In the main, however, Mandy's accusations aren't about specific incidents, her accusations are about ongoing and continuous repeated behavior and the witnesses (including people who lived in the same room as us and slept in the same bed) specifically say not only did these things not happen but in many cases the exact opposite happened, _as does Mandy herself in every document she left at the time_.

You will not be able to name a single accusation of abuse in Mandy's post that isn't directly refuted by information in that link. If you think you can: name it.

@PaMAr

Thanks! Maybe the Lynchian Unheimlich will make it into Supplement #1

@erased Anon

Misinformation will be deleted.

"
All the statements amount to is "I did not see him Do The Thing".
"

No. That's you simply denying the accuracy of my last comment. Please read it again as it addresses exactly that point.

Repeat: You will not be able to name a single accusation of abuse in Mandy's post that isn't directly refuted by information in that link. If you think you can: name it

Otherwise any attempt to claim the same fake thing again will be deleted.

"
Another question: why didn't you sue in California instead of Canada?

"

I don't know all the ins and outs laws in California vs Canada, just did what various lawyers recommended based on several different factors, it was a close call and took time to decide.

Zak Sabbath said...

@Erased Anon

First-strike personal attacks get deleted.

If you have a problem with me suing: give me a better option. So far no-one has.

Possible typos in the down time section:
- Drinking, item 10: Should it be 'drunk' rather than 'drink'?
- Drugs, item 10: Should it be 'threw' rather than 'throwed'?

Apologies if the wordings were intentional.

other downtime activities...
sex: must find willing partner certainly can be arranged however the results are random, bliss to conflict even gaining the attention of a enemy.
public drunkenness: (getting drunk in a bar for the purpose of aggression)
random altruism: doing something for someone for no reason and certainly no expectation of recompense, brief, swift altruism. usually only known to the person committing the act, else is not altruism (please avoid the trap of saying that altruism is not altruistic since the person that commits the act, gains a self perpetuating narcissistic reaffirmation of superiority) I probably should not have typed that last part.
watching the neighbors/street.. perhaps witness a crime detect surveillance (real or imagined)or even see a random altruism (real or imagined) see a pet (lol, act accordingly if cat)
