The last Disagree-a-thon was successful and the conversation broadly has failed to get better, so it has to happen again.
Put your Takes You Expect Someone Else ReadingThis To Disagree With in the comments, and be prepared to be selected and defend them in a separate blog entry in a few days.

p.s. There are a few orphan takes that were left in the comments of the original Disagree-a-thon post undefended and are officially and objectively wrong until someone steps forward to claim and successfully defend them:

The long descriptions of npcs in 2nd Edition products aren't useless, even if generated with the word/money ratio in mind (but are you sure they were?). They add to the depth of the npcs even if they are just here to be fought.

Rolling multiple dice (e.g. Shadowrun, WoD, FATE) is intrinsically fairer and *more fun* than rolling a single dice (e.g. D&D)

Fans modern D&D (3e+) don't actually want or even like D&D - they just want a generic fantasy game to play make believe with.
I've got one.
Everyone should be allowed not to answer the questions that they don't want to answer.
I'm not sure why you were upset but I was just suggesting a topic for debate. I don't actually have a position. The topic was high rates of attrition for low level PCs, and whether it's good or bad. I think you could find someone to argue boths sides of that.
Anyways, it was just a suggestion, since you were listing other orphaned topics. Carry on.
Because a PC is an extension of the player, doing unethical things in character is unethical, chiefly because those actions change the imagined world directly.
Authors and actors do not face the same problems.

Ok, email me: zakzsmith AT hawtmayle dawt calm
@Simon Tsevelev
Ridiculous claim: email me.
@Trevor Brown
I didn't say I was upset.
I simply told you not to float positions you can't defend.
@Benjamin Cusack
That's the silliest yet.
Email me to start the conversation.

Hi Zak so this is one reason I love using a tarot card followed with a skill and a then a roll of just a couple of dice.
From In the Company of Delvers by Better Games PG 73
Q&D Headquarters (Coins)
Headquarters King: Calm by citing excerpt of tales involving Yggdrasil, the
epic tree of wisdom, explaining the soundness of company tactics against diabolical
forces, mythic beasts, flaws of arcane creation, etc. Pretty much all an amusing stall.
Success to lower Threat Number or make Critical Discovery. Mishap and suffer
vicious wound with company rank decline. Tribulation: Energetic (Difficult) or
Repartee (Simple)
Inverted King Bane: Stray or cheat forward to let your sword drink, as VĂparr,
the magical warrior delver, repeatedly did in his sagas. Fail and lower Threat
Number but Shaken. Mishap and Shaken. Regardless, promote into the Vanguard.
Tribulation: Energetic (Difficult) or Zealot (Simple)
Double Bane King: Damnable dwarven imps rising right out of burrows in the
ground; where now are they hiding? Success to lower Threat Number or DefMod.
Mishap and lower Threat Number but a tally of stores declines. Tribulation:
Energetic (Difficult) or Mining (Simple)
Headquarters Queen: Review your earlier survey of Lyngvi (isle of the lost,
euphemistically terrain) and adjust your fallback position accordingly. Success to
lower Threat Number or gain Tactics Pip. Mishap and company must Retreat.
Tribulation: Gifted (Difficult) or Orienteering (Simple)
Inverted Queen Bane: Levitate, climb the wall or a ladder, merely ask to be
hoisted…survey the field with an unobstructed vantage. Fail and add DefMod.
Mishap and suffer vicious wound with company rank decline. Tribulation: Gifted
(Difficult) or Eagle Eye (Simple)
Double Bane Queen: Distribute victuals and ammo judiciously. Success to
lower Threat Number or restore a step in any rank toward elite. Mishap and next
player character to act is Shaken. Tribulation: Energetic (Difficult) or Diplomat
(Simple)

@mordenkainenetc
I'm not sure I follow.
As I had one before I had to really think about this, and make sure I was ready to defend it...
The 1st edition AD&D books are awful. They are the worst gaming rules books of the entire D&D line. The only way they are usable is with homebrew rules or adapting rules from earlier/later editions and other sources to make it work. Which makes them as a source of rules useless.
@Adamantyr
Preposterous! I believe you have my info on discord, hit me up.
I knew you'd feel that way. :) I may need to wait to the weekend, work is grueling of late. I'll need my full mental faculties for this I'm sure.
