- TenFootPole (the site that reviews Every. Single. Old School. Adventure.) just finished reading every single issue of Dungeon Magazine. An epic slog and a planet of pain--but Ten Foot Bryce does come up with 10 good adventures to check out.
- Lamentations of the Flame Princess (who published most of my stuff) has put out a call for adventure-writing talent from people under 21. So if you're barely legal, here's your chance.

Zak, I'm interested in the LOTFP call for adventures. I have an idea, but lack any experience pitching anything. Since you have a lot more experience in the field, is there any advice you can offer on pitching an idea to a RPG publisher?
ReplyDeleteI don't pitch much myself--there's no specific format you need to use though.
DeleteIt's just an email basically telling somebody your cool idea for a project.
James has publicly said 2 things not to do in pitches to him:
Not _another_ vagina dentata
Don't call something "Lovecraftian" just because it has tentacles
Other than that: try to have an original idea and try to express it in a way that makes it seem exciting.
