Congrats on the consultation credit. Though I don't think RPG.net is that bad of a place. Admittedly I'm a fan of 4E so it's one of the few places to get positive discussions for that particular system.
All in all, my group is having a fun time with D&D: Next and has been since starting the playtest over 2 years ago.
I have no frame of reference to who these people are. The moderation is, I have found, to be extreme in it's banning. However I've also found that criticism against things instead of people's opinions is perfectly OK.
Problem is: an _essential_ part of any debate forum is to be able to ask people for evidence or why they think what they think. Forums are not just so "Everyone can have their say" (you can do that on a blog) a FORUM is so that 2 people or more can have different "says" and then they have a conversation to find out how they got 2 or more different conclusions--everyone learns something. RPGnet impedes this function.
Right, I agree. For the most part I don't post much on RPGnet because of other obligations and because their use of the "ban hammer" is quick and excessive. Being banned there once for defending 4E taught me that. However as I reflect upon that incident I realized that I was being, frankly, a douche and got down in the mud with another E-warrior. What I took from that was that it's OK to not like things and aggressively express why but don't let it go to the person who's arguing with you OR the people who created it. Now as a 4E fan I don't have to fight over the whole E-War thing much because most people who don't like 4E don't post on RPGnet, like I don't post over on Dragonsfoot or RPGsite for similar reasons. Anyways, glad you got your name into the PDF (and I'm assuming book). Our group liked it a lot towards the end of the playtest and I can see us putting the system into our rotation of games when it's fully out. And I think that says a lot since our group is adamantly pro-4E.

No kidding. He made Tiamet interesting. Tiamet wasn't exactly a boring evil goddess, but being around so often for so long you can see some wrinkles. Zak S posts on each cult dedicated to each head pretty much gave Tiamet a paint job she deserves.
I read it and it looks good, a big improvement over 4e; truly a better version of what they were trying to do with that edition. I'm true blue pathfinder at this point, but still.
If you had something to do with that, kudos are due. I think it needs the OGL, but what do I know.
By any chance, do you use an iPhone? I turned most of your Vornheim sourcebook tables into an offline iPhone web app and I would like to offer it back to you, it does not require publishing to the internet at large since I respect what goes into creating a book like that. my apologies if that's out of line.

It seems to me that it has a lot of interests in common with you and your way of GMing your world. It uses a lot of random generation and a shared narration, esp. through cards.Would you be interested in a one-page presentation or so ? (not trying to sell you anything though)

May those tens of thousands also never corner you at a convention to tell you about their many characters. May those that do have interesting characters and bring beer and pizza for you. Kudos!
