Trying to assemble inspirational pics for an upcoming TMNT/Mutant Future type game we're doing with all mutant animals. The idea is to find pictures that make the girls go "Oh, being a mutant ____ could be cool." Here's what I got so far:
I will say that the thing that got me with "mutant chicken" is the "see ultraviolet" power for five Bio-E. See, I even remember that off the top of my head. Played a rooster cardshark who marked his cards with ultra violet paint. Oh man, TMNT & Other Strangeness, you crazy thing, you. I got the World of Darkness' "Changing Breeds" book just in case I want to smash up a TMNT game with a system more my style. Character creation is a hell of a lot of fun but the Palladium mechanics are not my cup of tea. I had a bunch of friends over a few years ago to play the White Ronin adventure ("the door closes behind you & you realize you are well & truly trapped" being a mantra of mine) & it worked swimmingly until the dice came out.
I can't find a good pic on the web now, but the old Batman Beyond animated series had bad guys called splicers who injected animal DNA in their bodies for weird cool combos. Maybe youre goggle fu is better than mine.
Sim might be all kinds of crazy but there's always Cerebus. http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cerebus.jpg OK, so strictly speaking Beta Ray Bill is an Alien but he's working that horse/Joe Camel vibe. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7gYa9tgG_vU/SgmMH7cp75I/AAAAAAAABII/3YtzQ0XI9fc/s400/betaraythor.gif And then there's that douche Mr. Ed http://fespn.files.wordpress.com/2006/12/mister_ed.jpg
Ah, yes. The Starjammers. Splicers were indeed interesting. I think they appeared in an issue or two of Batman Beyond comic, too... and there was this hyena guy in Return of the Joker.
TMNT was awesome. I've never had any real issue with Palladium's mechanics, although I find the modern weapons rules to be annoying and easily changed to suit my game style. But the hand to hand combat works pretty well! especially if you bring in Ninja's and Superspies
A good friend of mine, Salvador Espin, drew the art for the Marvel Comis' story "The Last Knights of Wundagore" (Wolverine: First Class #3-#4). He drew a lot of antropomorphic animals, from cool to cute.
There's this video game called bloody roar, kind of like street fighter but all the characters can shape shift mid fight into a hybrid animal person. Here's a couple of the characters, but im sure there are more pics out there that could give you a nice variety of mutant animal people. http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Features/2008/11/Comics%20vs%20Fighters/Art/Finished/bloodyroar_final_v2--article_image.jpg
As long as you're OK with getting so close to running a furry campaign, go for it. At least imagining your players with cat ears or whatever is pleasant rather than nightmarish.
As for source material, all you need to know about mutated human/animal hybrids from the future is the film "Rock & Rule":
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086203/
With music by Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry, Lou Reed and Cheap Trick.
These are all slightly NSFW but still pretty cool. http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5930/gfdgfdgfdgfg.jpg http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/3874/1247455900399.jpg http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/3233/1247531549480.jpg
Also if you dont mind the occasional questionable anime-ish looking girl there is a very NSFW thread on an image board (If you've heard of 4chan, this is the same thing except its called GuroChan) that might be of interest. http://gurochan.net/f/res/2572-100.html
It's been at least 15 years since I messed with TMNT. Made up a team of Otters one time with the team rules. Never got to play them but the concept was fun. Here's a site about a mutant sea otter, included a failed presidential election bid.
WoD wereanimals (http://whitewolf.wikia.com/wiki/Changing_Breeds) could bring some good human-like hybrids, google some images to find art from the books, like

Try using your google-fu on "High Evolutionary" and "Knights of Wundagore" - he was an old Marvel villain that used evolved animals all the time.

My TMNT&OS char was an armadillo commando. Although IIRC, I didn't have enough Bio-E for both armor and rolling into a ball. Weak.
