I usually start with the artwork and then come up with adventures/monsters from there. Along with the whole, 'I've got this idea, can you draw it?' back and forth thing, I'd recommend also doing it where the artist commissions a written piece from the writer, which they then draw some aspect of. One cool variation on that was having the writer 'reverse engineer' some notes from a piece they did, ie trying to get back into the mindset they were in before they wrote it, and the artist drawing something based on that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2638993969706011706.post-29964555302115085052011-01-18T01:09:09.208-08:002011-01-18T01:09:09.208-08:00You can really see this in Despicable Me: there ar...You can really see this in Despicable Me: there are gags in there that I at least think could only have come from the writers seeing the art in development, and it's so much stronger for it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2638993969706011706.post-61361532122451591612011-01-18T00:34:53.674-08:002011-01-18T00:34:53.674-08:00There's more to clever special abilities than ...There's more to clever special abilities than just math...huthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16502682297320819595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2638993969706011706.post-30286083584140779832011-01-17T11:28:20.271-08:002011-01-17T11:28:20.271-08:00Huth -- Statblocks are math; math is dense; 5 cent...Huth -- Statblocks are math; math is dense; 5 cents per word is underpriced.Deltahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00705402326320853684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2638993969706011706.post-43840959318878458982011-01-17T09:08:22.997-08:002011-01-17T09:08:22.997-08:00This is an excellent suggestion, we ought to do th...This is an excellent suggestion, we ought to do this type of collaborative creation process more often.
