It definitely slowed down chargen to go through that process, but not as much as might be expected given the pre-constructed nature of trait assignment by culture and religion, e.g. "You're of the Cymri culture and you're a British Christian so you have these traits at these stats by default, modify a couple of them in this way and off you go." Which is to say, none. <br />Should the characters have some kind of outlook on life and motivation and goals? Sure. <br />Should the character interact in some fun ways with NPCs and power groups and just groups in the world? Sure. <br />Does it require an alignment system? I don't think it does.
