A farmer says a line of fenceposts suddenly slipped underground *pop* *pop* *pop* along the edge of his field. The holes left behind are hard-sided and stable, but too deep to see into. Dropped torches tumble out of sight around slight bends. Nothing has been known to emerge from them. Under the nose of the head monks he uses the passage to smuggle out rare books which he sells to Ibn Al-Aziz. The passage requires great athleticism and involves climbing the exterior around a sea cliff at one point.

Tower of Erispoe: A series of metal tracks hauls a Mirror of Opposition around the tower, far out of reach above, but passing close by each cage. The newly created reptile would attack its double, but because it appears beside the mirror it drops to the ground and in frustration attacks anyone nearby.

Band of Gnolls: The gnoll leader Chonough carries a flail made of three animated zombie heads which lunge and bite - but they won't attack the wielder as a boon from Yeenoghu.

Baron's Foodtaster: The man's title is Royal Gustator, and he wasn't kidnapped but rescued by a bandit princess with whom he fell madly in love. The change in scenery is doing him good: the baron ate nothing but greasy, heavy, overcooked, flavorless food, and now the Free Gustator dines on the wild bounty of the forest.

* Most of the Count's knights lounge around and enjoy court life, scheming for political power. The small military tends to stick around the castles of the Count and his Barons, only sallying forth to deal with bandits that make too much of a nuisance.

Hex 35: A mysterious knight stands in the highway, his shrill squire challenging anyone with a horse and armor to a joust in a meadow to the side. As the jousters prepare, a mist springs up and envelopes the pair. While sounds of combat ring out and echo, nothing can be seen in the dense fog. Some time later the mysterious knight rides out alone carrying the loser's armor and leading his horse. Those who refuse the challenge suffer lamentable misfortune and dishonor in the future.
